Summer Events in Barcelona
San Miguel Mas i Mas Festival (31/07/2018 – 31/08/2018)
This festival began in 2003 as the Jazz Festival. However, since it became so popular, they play all different types of music like funk, soul and even flamenco.
Some of the concerts take place in emblematic venues in Barcelona like La Pedrera, Gran Teatre Liceu, Jamboree Club or the Palau de la Música during August. Check out the dates, prices and musicians that will perform in each space and get your tickets.
Cap Roig Festival (13/07/2018 – 22/08/2018)
The festival is held in the Botanical Garden of Cap Roig in Calella de Palafrugell. A small town on the Costa Brava, which is 1 h 50′ away from Barcelona by car.
They organize many concerts such as Hombres G, Andrea Bocelli or Supertramp’s Roger Hodgson while overlooking onto the amazing Mediterranean Sea. It’s quite romantic and peaceful.

Música als Parcs (02/06/2018 – 30/08/2018)
Barcelona is a sustainable city that bets for green spaces and a good quality of life for those who live and visit. As a result, the Town Hall organizes open air concerts during summer to draw people’s attention to spend time in parks and gardens. The type of music that you’ll find in these open air concerts are jazz, classic, blues or small orchestra groups that play in school music groups. Enjoy music while spending time with nature!
Blues Nights (21/06/2018 – 27/09/2018)
Thursday nights at Poble Espanyol have become the best Blues Nights for the fifth time this year. Not only you will enjoy the Spanish Town (Poble Espanyol), which is located on Montjuïc Mountain, but also 15 different concerts throughout summer.
The upcoming concerts are on the 16th, 23rd and 30th of August and on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of September. If you are a Catalonia resident, you can book your ticket online for 5,50€ (6,50€ at the box office). Tourists have to pay 6,30€ for online tickets and kids under 4 years old are free of charge.
Brunch in the Park 2018 (01/07/2018 – 16/09/18)
Brunch in the Park is an open air event in the Jardins de Joan Brossa on Montjuïc’s mountain. They play the best national and international electronic music and have other entertaining elements. Different artists, timetables and prices are specifically detailed on their website.
Open Air Cinemas 2018
Barcelona offers a wide range of open air cinema’s since 1916 from June until early October. This romantic and old-fashion way of watching a film has become one of the must-do’s by residents and tourists. Here are some of the Open Air Cinemas that Barcelona holds during 2018.
Mecal Air 2018
It takes place in Poble Espanyol, more specifically in the Baluard Square. Every Friday from June to October. Check out the different short film genres from 8PM for only 6,50€ and enjoy this vibrant atmosphere surrounded by nature.
Cinema Lliure a la Platja
Open Air on the beach with a free admission ticket. What else do you need? The beaches that held the open air cinema are in San Sebastián beach, Badalona, El Prat de Llobregat or Mataró beach from the 28th of June until the 2nd of August.
Enjoy some music from 9PM just before the film starts at 10PM and don’t forget to bring drinks and popcorn!
Gandules 2018 (CCCB)
The Centre de Cultura Contemporànea de Catalunya (CCCB) organizes 9 open air films from the 7th until the 23rd of August at 10PM. This outdoor cinema is inspired by illumination and magic, which will make the Pati de les Dones, one of the most outstanding places this summer.

Other open air cinemas are Puttanesca 2018, Doc’snoctàmbuls 2018, Cinema Jove a la Fresca or Cinema a la Fresca Illa Diagonal.
