Discover Barcelona Through Its Markets

Discover the best markets in Barcelona, from famous food halls to hidden local gems. Explore authentic flavours, traditions and neighbourhood experiences.

Barcelona’s markets are much more than places to buy fresh produce. They are meeting points where locals shop, eat, chat and experience the city’s everyday life.

From historic markets hidden inside beautiful modernist buildings to vibrant food halls where traditional flavours meet contemporary cuisine, exploring Barcelona’s markets is one of the best ways to discover the city beyond its famous landmarks.

Whether you are looking for authentic Catalan products, local restaurants, unique architecture or a different cultural experience, these markets are worth adding to your Barcelona itinerary.

Sant Antoni Market

Located in the Eixample neighbourhood, Mercat de Sant Antoni is one of Barcelona’s most impressive markets.

Originally opened in 1882 and recently renovated, the market combines historic iron architecture with a modern shopping experience. Unlike La Boqueria, which is mainly visited by tourists, Sant Antoni remains a true local market where residents come for fresh food, traditional products and everyday shopping.
